Bob & Carol

We are the Arancee (R & C), R for Robert although commonly known as Bob and C for Carol. Originating from the South East of England and have moved to several areas of the UK. Unfortunately due to health matters, Bob was forced to take early retirement, so we moved to the Brecon Beacons in Powys, Mid Wales. We have sprinkled a little fertiliser on our feet and hope that we actually take root in one place.

Our first Bobtail (Bodie) joined us in February 1982, Sophie followed in 1984 and Lucy in 1988. From the "pet" beginnings of Bodie we have never looked back, only to enjoy our many memories.

In 1994 we eventually succeeded after two years and three attempts to produce a litter from "Lucy" (7 dogs & 3 bitches by cesarian section) and have started what we hope will be our own line. From this litter we kept Bonnie & Clyde, who have both enjoyed show successes although we have concentrated on Bonnie with very good results since 1996. More recently, in March of 1998, Bonnie produced a super litter for us (2 dogs & 5 bitches), from which we have kept a bitch who we have named Gemma. In June of 1998, we imported Vito from Belgium in order to help us further develop our breeding plans. March 1999 saw the arrival of Mandy, a single puppy bitch from a mating between Vito and Bonnie, now providing a further dimension to our breeding options.

Our activities have, we hope, always been associated with the betterment of the breed, and having been fortunate enough to learn from several stalwarts of the breed, we are now able to provide returns in other ways. Examples can be found under the productions available. Bob is a former Vice President of the Old English Sheepdog Club of Wales, and is Vice Chairman of Hereford Ringcraft Club as well as a Committee Member of Kington Show (Dog Section) Committee.

Europe

March 2000 heralded the first show weekend in Europe following the implementation of the PETS Travel Scheme, which saw Bob taking Vito to a show in Zuidlaren in Holland, the first UK exhibitor under the new scheme. Vito's successes are detailed on his own page.
